Nightweaning, day 9

Last night went okay. It was the first non-pick up and rock back to sleep night. I woke up sick and tired this morning, so much so that I didn't even make my bed! I did cheat a little last night and nursed Rose around 5:30. At night, I just get so dead tired that I can't even function, and to pair that with a crying toddler makes it miserable for me!

Today we decided to delay our elimination diet and go visit some friends, Parker & Kim and their cutie daughter Leia, who is just younger than Rose. We had a great time with them, and Dave was able to help them with some mold abatement in their attic. That's Dave, he's a specialist in abatement! He was glad to help. The girls did really well, even Rose who refused to nap all day, except for a 15 minute catnap in the car on our way to dinner. The girls were both asleep on the way home before 8, and have been sleeping pretty hard until Rose woke up just a few minutes ago. Good thing we brought their jammies to Kirkland!

OK, I am totally obsessing about homesteading lately. My most recent sub-obsession is that I want to raise all heritage animals and grow heirloom plants in our garden. I figure it's the way I can save the earth, protect rare animal breeds, and serve my family, all in one fair swoop! I am currently loving on the Randall-Lineback cattle now. They are an all-in-one breed: milk, meat, and oxen! Plus they are beau-ti-ful! Wouldn't they be absolutely stunning if you drove by a bunch of these cattle grazing? Hopefully I can get my hands on a few when we buy our 200 acre farm!
